Setup ISYS Indexes And Routes

When the controller is run, and after you have configured your ISYS indexes and routes, you click on the Update DB button to save and write this configuration information to the database. If the ISYS routing SQL tables do not already exist in the OptiDoc database, then they will be automatically created. Therefore no additional scripts are needed to update the schema when installing Full Text Searching capabilities.

  1. Install the ISYS desktop on each workstation.
  2. When you install ISYS desktop you must use the ISYS standalone license key
  3. Copy Controller.exe into the OptiCenter folder.
  4. In Windows Explorer, create two folders in the storage path location.
  5. Create the “Index” folder.
  6. The Index folder contain the ISYS indicies for the data in the text route.
  7. Create the "Route" folder.
  8. The Route folder contains the OCR text for the actual documents.
  9. Run the Controller.
  10. In the ISYS Engine Path area uncheck the check box and enter the ISYS SDK Codes.
  11. Re-check the check box to lock the ISYS SDK Codes.
  12. Login into the OptiDoc database.
  13. Right click on the collection, and select Add Index.
  14. Browse to and select the "Index” folder.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Right click on Index under the collection name, and select Index Properties under the drop down menu.
  17. Click on Upate CGG, and then click on Initialize, and then click OK.
  18. This creates the initial ISYS configuration file, and initializes the ISYS indexes
  19. Right click on the collection, and select Add Route from the drop down menu.
  20. Browse to and select the “Route” folder.
  21. Click OK.
  22. Right click on Route under the collection name, and select Route Properties from the drop down menu.
  23. Verify the Path.
  24. Select the Limit MB check box and enter the storage limit in MB AND/OR select the Limit Count check box (leave default number)
  25. Click OK
  26. Click Update DB to save changes.
  27. Click OK to close Controller.exe.

OptiDoc2

  1. OptiDoc2 must be licensed for full text indexing in order for the full text preference panel to become enabled.
  2. Check to unlock the license edit field.
  3. Enter the ISYS SDK Code into the license edit field.
  4. Check to lock the license edit field.

OCR

In order to use the full text search feature you must have an OCR engine active. Currently the ScanSoft OCR engine, and the Microsoft OCR engine is supported.
